Key features of the system include:
Scope of our work:
A leading UK-based producer of premium desserts required expansion of their production facilities to meet increasing demand and we were tasked with designing and installing a bespoke new pumped ammonia and glycol cooling system to support the increased output.
Designed to fit within a small footprint across three floors, the system required intricate 3D design to ensure seamless integration within the new plant area and factory layout.
A complex project which had to meet the highest regulatory category for ammonia systems, this was our CHOK refrigeration first CAT 4 ammonia installation to achieve PESR (UKCA) sign off. Additionally, during the transition to PESR, we also completed new material appraisals (PMAs) in alignment with harmonised standards.
Working as a trusted partner with this national food manufacturer, this project underscores our ability to design, engineer and install state-of-the-art refrigeration systems to comply with stringent requirements.
Tom Marshall, Head of Technical & Projects at CambridgeHOK Refrigeration, said: “This project highlights our technical expertise in delivering complex, regulatory-compliant systems for food manufacturers who are looking to expand and optimise their facilities.
“The successful completion of this bespoke pumped ammonia and glycol system demonstrates our capability to meet challenging design specifications while ensuring the highest industry standards.
“We are confident this achievement showcases our extensive experience and positions us as leaders in engineering systems for the industrial refrigeration sector.”
