Project Overview
Scope of our work:
When one of the UK’s leading meat processing facilities required a refrigeration upgrade at their Shrewsbury site, we were proud to demonstrate our expertise and reinforce our reputation as trusted experts in the sector.
Working in conjunction with an Irish-based mechanical installer, the main contractor, we were tasked with supplying the new condenser and heat pump pack as well as conducting the associated electrical works and commissioning. Having previously completed a similarly-successful installation at another facility in Ireland, the main contractor handled the mechanical installation.
Ensuring the site remained fully operational while installing the new condenser was the biggest challenge, as the refrigeration system is critical to the storage of products. Any downtime beyond 10 hours could risk product deterioration due to temperature fluctuations. To mitigate this risk and minimise disruption, a significant portion of the project was completed ahead of a planned shutdown. Additionally, the team installed isolation valves to keep one condenser operational during the process.
Once all delivery dates were confirmed by suppliers and agreed upon, the project proceeded smoothly and was completed on time and within the agreed budget. The careful coordination of tasks and precise scheduling ensured every aspect of the initiative met expectations, whilst maintaining operational efficiency throughout the works.
With both the engineering company and meat processor praising our on-site team for their professionalism and expertise, this project highlights yet another resounding success.
